Andhra Pradesh chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India organized a Refugee meet on the occasion of World Refugee Day. The meet was held for Rohingya refugees at Balapur, Hyderabad on 20th June 2013. Addressing the refugees, Abdul Jabbar Siddiqi, Chairman of Human Welfare Foundation, AP extended his sympathy and best wishes to the refugees who had to flee from their lands. He said that one of the biggest issues to the humanity is rehabilitation of refugees. He said that it’s the tragedy of modern times that there is a huge rise in sectarian violence, rebellion against the governments and state wars which is displacing a huge population from their lands. He expressed his grief on this and promised every possible help to them.

Br. Iqbal Hussain, State President of SIO urged the youth not to deviate from the path of truth, honesty and faith in God. The refugees participated in singing and Quran recitation competitions. SIO distributed rainy season kits to all the refugee participants.
