The students of Abdul Haq Urdu University Kurnool (AHUUK) at Andhra Pradesh protested over various issues at the university.
The principal and vice principal are unqualified for their respective positions. Hence, the students have demanded for appointment of qualified lecturers on these posts.
The boys’ hostel lacks proper infrastructure, which has been delayed for months.
University had promised to provide bachelor’s degree certificate to the students who want to leave integrated MSc course after completing the graduation part of the course. However, the university is now insisting students to complete five-year course or a discontinued certificate will be issued which will not help the students.
Students are getting harassed by the management if they make any complaint against them regarding mess, hostel or funds manipulation.
Some of the faculty members use inappropriate tone with female students.
Speaking to media, Br Mujeeb Unit President, SIO AHUUK, said that there are many issues in the university for which they have called for the protest. “After the protest by students union, the university management has formed a committee to address the issues and assured strict actions against the people, if proven guilty,” he said.
