Youth 4 Morality Students Conference by SIO Umarkhed Maharashtra NorthThe Students Islamic Organisation of India, Umarkhed Unit (Maharashtra North) organised a 1-day conference, “Youth 4 Morality” on 2nd June, 2013 at Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar library. Cadre of SIO interacted with more than two thousand students in the classes, on the sports ground and each and every corner of the city.

“Do not approach indecency, either in public or in private” was the message communicated through corner-meets and lectures in the classrooms.

Mr. Sohail Ameer Shaikh and Dr. Adnan, Ex-Zonal President and Campus secretary of SIO Maharashtra North Zone respectively, joined SIO Umarkhed Unit in welcoming National Campus Secretary of SIO, Mr. Khaleeq Ahmed Khan to address a gathering of more than 200 students.

The Program started with the recitation of Quran. Mr. Shoaib Iqbal, President of SIO Umarkhed, in his inaugural words, stated the purpose of the conference. Dr. Adnan spoke on the topic “Role of SIO in the field of education”.

Mr. Sohail Ameer Shaikh through his talk on “Students for Social Change” described the term ‘Social Change’ and discussed the moral obligation of students in bringing a positive change. He also added how political parties misuse the energy of students and keep them busy with unimportant activities.

Mr. Khaleeq Ahmed Khan addressed the students on the theme, “Youth for Morality”. With examples from the classroom, he invited students towards rational thinking and social awareness so as to lead the society towards a value-based society. He also explained the role of SIO in dealing with issues of decline of moral standards in the society. He put forward the need to re-construct the society on values of justice, equality and morality.

In the end, students who scored good marks in academics were felicitated. Congratulating the cadre on successful completion of the program, Mr. Khaleeq Ahmed Khan shared his dream to make the cadre of SIO politically, socially, culturally and morally aware.
