Press Release SIO IndiaPune, 04-04-13: “Govt. should extend the re-registration date for MPSC aspirants for at least one month and should take corrective actions against such technical issues” said S.Salman, Secretary, SIO Maharashtra South after handing over the memorandum to the concerned authority.

On Tuesday, the web servers of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) crashed because of a virus. A notification issued by the MPSC secretary stated: “All candidates who have applied for the State Services Preliminary Examination 2013 to be held on April 7 are hereby requested to refill their profile details (such as photo, signature) by 1700 hrs on Thursday, April 4, on www.mpsconline.gov.in without which the admission certificates (hall ticket) shall not be issued.”

More than 3.5 lakh student were told to re-register. This has caused an issue to the students. After this news, the students logged onto the website for registration. As a huge number of students were trying to fill the form online, the website started to work slowly for a long time. Inspite of this issue, Prithvi Raj Chavan (CM Maharashtra State) announced that the examinations would be conducted on 7 April only. The Students are facing problem in downloading the fee receipts to receive their hall-tickets. Adding to this, there is also a grave problem of load shedding.

SIO Maharashtra south has submitted the memorandum to the collectors of all major cities of Maharashtra and forwarded the copy to the CM and other concerned authorities. SIO demanded that Govt should extend the date of registration and make a strong backup technical support. The Govt should take a serious concern over the problems related to load shedding & poor infrastructural facilities in rural and urban areas.
