13-Coimbatur-tamil-issueStudents Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Tamil Nadu zone strongly endorses the student community’s view of getting justice to the Tamils in the Sri Lankan War Crimes. As an organisation which always stands for peace and justice and against all human rights violation, SIO demands the Indian Government for a strong stand against the Sri Lankan government in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

SIO COIMBATORE District President M.S Sabeer Ali addresses the ‘Coimbatore Law College’ students at the Hunger-strike. He went along with 35 SIO cadres to lend support to the Students seeking justice for the Sri Lankan Tamils!

At the outset, SIO congratulates the students community of Tamil Nadu who have broken the habit of being silent spectators, an unusual event in the state campuses, and have got down to the field throughout the state from different educational background, to protest the atrocities and seek justice to the Tamils in Sri Lanka.

SIO suggest that the injustice done to the Sri Lankan Tamils should not be seen just as a problem of Tamils rather it should be addressed as a human rights violation and degradation of human life itself.

We witness that all the mass student agitation which took place in the state after independence have been confined within the limits of the language boundary. SIO believes that the boundaries should not be the obstacles in our concern for peace and justice. An ideal student community of the 21st century would be the one which condemns the atrocities lend to any community irrespective of caste, language, creed, religion, etc.

‘Ends does not justify means’, hence the students should restrain from anti-human activities such as attacking the innocent tourist and damaging the public property. An anti-human action cannot be a good response for another anti-human action.
At last, SIO urges the students community to keep up the zeal and also address the other important problems facing the state such as Liquor, Corruption, lack of basic facilities in the campuses, Commercialization of education, caste discrimination, etc. Let us join hands for revolution in soul and soil!
