Kolkata: “Due to low quality of education, students are losing their responsibility and social awareness. Students have social responsibility,” said All India President of SIO Ashfaque Ahmed in a press conference at Kolkata Press Club on 9th December, 2013.

SIO demanded that students should stop any kind of political interfere and election should follow Lyngdoh Commission recommendation (2005).

Several SIO representatives spoke on the occasion and urged the student fraternity to come forward for the welfare and betterment of the society.
