SIO Starts Course to Integrate Contemporary Knowledge with Islamic Worldview

SIO, in collaboration with US-based Maqasid Institute has started a three-months online course ‘Islamic Thought: Methodologies and Applications’ for selected cadre of the organisation.

The course seeks to provide an overview on the fundamentals sciences of Islam and to learn how human knowledge can be integrated with the Islamic worldview.

The course will include modules on Ulum-e-Quran, Ulum-e-Hadith, Usul-e-Fiqh, Maqasid-e-Shariah, Integration of Knowledge and Tools and Methods of learning and thinking. World renowned scholars such as Dr. Jasser Auda, Dr. Mohammad Enayatullah Subhani, Dr. Abullais Qasmi Khairabadi and Professor Syed Raghib Hasan will teach the course.

At the launching session for the course on August 22, SIO National President Mohammad Salman talked about the significance of such initiative for an organization recognized for its intellectual and ideological orientation.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Sadatullah Hussaini talked about the need of such courses and its long-term implications for broader Islamic movement. He also said that such course can never be enough for full understanding of these subjects. These are just a startup which should go far ahead.

This course will commence on August 28. The classes will be conducted online where classes will be held twice a week.
