New Delhi: (30/10/2014)Welcoming the decision of Aligarh Muslim University’s Student Union, SIO (Student Islamic Organisation of India) has greeted the new elected team of AMUSU, Abdullah Azzam (president), Sayed Masoodul Hasan and Shahzeb Ahmed along with all court and cabinet members and expected a positive change in student politics and campus activism.
In a press release, National President of SIO, Ashfaque Ahmad has expressed happiness over emerging new student leaders and his positive activism in the campus. He said that “AMU has played excellent role in building the nation and Indian society. The student union and student politics of AMU are supposed as a model for the nation. But, unfortunately its student politics have moved to the wrong direction since last decade. Subsequently, those students took over it who has promoted corruption, unethical values and lobbyism. These types of demerits are intolerable for a university that intends to provide honest leadership to the nation.” The press release noted.
That is why SIO has participated in the student election of AMU and supported an honest Student leader, Abdullah Azzam, A student of final year from Law Faculty. The organization also extended vote of thanks for those who helped in electing an honest and true student leader.
SIO expected from new AMUSU team that “it is expected from this new team that they must do struggle for upholding the dignity of the university, prevailing value-based-politics and solving the problems of students.” The press release also added.
