by | Feb 17, 2021

Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Kozhikode District Committee held a protest to demand revocation of cases against anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) activists in Kerala.

The Kozhikode Town police have sent a summons to 46 political, cultural and religious leaders in Kerala, who expressed their solidarity for a hartal against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in 2019. The list includes former SIO National President Nahas Mala, former SIO Kerala President Salih Kottappalli and Welfare Party of India leaders Hameed Vaniyambalam and K Ambujakshan.

“By initiating police action against those who stood with anti-CAA movement, Kerala government is indicating its agreement with the anti-Muslim law,” said Anwar Salahuddin, Zonal Secretary, SIO Kerala.
