Raju Ghosh tops “All India Online Competition” on Book “Towards Understanding Islam”

New Delhi: An “All India Online Competition” with the theme “Connecting Hearts” on the book “Towards Understanding Islam” was organized during lockdown to engage students and youth in some constructive activity. Students & youth below 30 years & above 18 years of age were eligible to be part of it. It was an open book competition in which more than 12000 students & youth registered for it. The Book on which the competition was organized is a famous book which gives brief & comprehensive introduction of Islam. The response of participants from all over India had been overwhelming and winners of this competition had been declared recently.

Br. Sabeer CK, convener of the competition said that it is important to note that students & youth from all faiths had participated in good numbers in this competition representing the true diversity of our beloved country. This is significant in the present scenario, he added. He further said that this competition was organized by Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) which has been at the forefront in promoting communal harmony & brotherhood through various activities for the past three decades. This competition was also part of its efforts in this regard to promote harmony by dispelling misconceptions about Islam since Islam is most misunderstood religion today, he added. 

Three winners & ten consolation prizes were declared at the national level and 3 prizes were conferred at the state level. Mr Raju Ghosh from West Bengal secured the top position at the national level while Miss Asmath Mubeena S from Tamil Nadu & Amulya from Telangana secured 2nd and 3rd position respectively. SIO of India congratulates all the winners and participants of this competition and hope that initiatives like this will help further the cause of mutual love and respect.
