On behalf of SIO, the petition filed in the Supreme Court was heard today. Adv. Sanjay Hegde appeared at the apex court. The Supreme Court acknowledged a leak in the NEET-UG 2024 question paper, stating that a re-test might be necessary if the exam’s integrity is compromised, especially through social media. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been ordered to report on its investigation by July 11. The National Testing Agency (NTA) must provide details on the nature and timing of the leak. The Court emphasized the importance of maintaining NEET’s sanctity and suggested the formation of a multi-disciplinary team of experts to prevent future leaks. The Supreme Court observed that if segregation is possible, then re-examination is not mandatory. The next hearing is scheduled for July 11.
Adv. Shwetank, along with SIO national secretaries Dr. Roshan Mohiddin, Abdullah Faiz, and Imran Hussain, briefed the media regarding SIO’s stance and expressed hope that the future verdict will deliver justice.
