by | Feb 15, 2012

Students Islamic Organisation, Pune Unit had organized a programme on 14th Feb 2012 at Azam Campus, Pune. This highlighted the lewdness and immorality which is being spread by celebrating Valentine’s Day. Dr Javed Mukarram Siddiqui, an eminent scientist from Aurangabad and Member of Central Advisory Committee, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind spoke on the topic, “Islamic concept of Love”. The address started at 11am at Pune College and was attended by Principal, staff and students.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr Javed explained, in the light of Quran and Hadith, the ill consequences of blindly following the modern western culture. He said,” We are in no need to learn the concept of love from the West but instead, they should be introduced to the Islamic concept of Love”. The western concept of love paralyses man’s rational thinking and fuels indecency, provokes animal instincts which further degrades him towards sin and corruption. Whereas, Islamic concept encourages one to fulfill his rights as a human being, teaches decency thereby leading to the development of pious individual and a value based society.

Dr GM Naziruddin, Principal, Poona College, added that the youth should concentrate on their spiritual development and spread the true message of Islam to the society.

Followed by this, a second programme, “The breaking Family System – Reasons and solutions for its restoration”, was held in the Masjid of Azam Campus. This was also attended by students in large numbers. Special arrangements were done for ladies as well for this gathering.
