Condemning Arrests and Violence Against Peaceful Protestors : SIO

by | Aug 17, 2023

The Student Islamic organisation of India (SIO) strongly condemns the unjust detention of our  student leaders along with students and activists from various universities, at Haryana Bhavan, Delhi. The protest was organized to raise our collective voice against the alarming rise of Hindutva forces against innocent citizens and state-sponsored terror in Nuh.

It is disheartening to witness that instead of taking action against the perpetrators of violence in Nuh, the police chose to resort to brutal measures against peaceful demonstrators. This action not only violates the fundamental rights of individuals to express their dissent but also reflects a concerning disregard for democratic values.

We demand the immediate release of all detained students and activists who were peacefully advocating for justice and condemning the state terror in Nuh. It is essential that the authorities uphold the principles of democracy and ensure that citizens’ voices are heard without fear of reprisal.

We demand the concerned authorities to redirect their efforts towards addressing the root causes of violence and arrest the perpetrators of Nuh violence and ensurethe safety and well-being of all citizens. The detention of protestors only serves to further erode trust against this administration’s commitment to justice and democracy.

SIO stands united with the students, activists, and individuals who are striving against injustice and state terrors. SIO will continue to stand up for justice, equality, and the rights of all citizens, and we remain unwavering in our commitment in upholding the truth.
