Campus & Education Workshop by SIO UP Central

Students Islamic Organisation of India, UP Central Zone organized a Campus and Education Workshop on 10th November 2013 at Zonal office in Lucknow.

The program started with Dr. Arshadullah Khan’s discourse, “Quranic View of Education”, in which he said that modern education separates God and Human entities while Quran commands us to “Read with the name of your Lord”. He further said that Quran invites people to ponder and reflect upon things surrounding us.

Later, Br. Mohd Arif, Campus Secretary of SIO UP central gave a brief introduction of the workshop and urged the students to establish their identity in campuses.

Br. Favvaz Shaheen from Aligarh Muslim University discussed Indian Educational System and critically examined its ill-effects. He said that the current educational system is creating money-making machines and not humans. He also spoke on, “Campus Politics and Significance of Students Activism”, in which he clearly defined what is the role of Students activism in campuses.

Br. Najmussaquib Khan, Zonal President of SIO UP Central spoke on the importance of organization in a student’s life.  This was followed by a session, “Campus Environment and Our Working Strategy”, in which participants presented the situation of their campuses and also suggested how they could work there.

During the program, SIO UP Central’s ten-day Campus Campaign themed, “Campus needs Moral Beats” was launched. Br. Aamir Usmani, Zonal Secretary of SIO UP Central, while explaining the objective of this campaign, said that its need of our time that campuses become morally and ethically strong.
