region, he met with the members of SIO and interacted with them on various topics like vision sharing, student and tanzeemi issues etc. This was followed by Press and VIP meets in each region.

Apart from these, at Kareem Nagar (North Region), a student rally was organized which he addressed. At Kadapa (South Region), he met and interacted with JAC members. A student rally was also organized here, again addressed by the President. Finally, at Sangareddy (West Region), he made a speech to a general public gathering held there.

During the press meet at Kadapa, K. K. Sohail highlighted the importance of elections in campus. He said that Campus Politics is a creative tool which has been made in campuses of India for creative dialogue and debates on different social and education issues and to ensure social consciousness inside students. Speaking on the issue of ragging he urged the state government to enforce the existing laws in all the campuses, and said that the recommendations made by the Raghavan committee, appointed by the Supreme Court, and the current rules are adequate enough to wipe out this menace. But the soft corner approach by the college administrations and the teachers are crediting loop holes which end up in dangerous consequences. He also said, on behalf of SIO, that the criminals be punished.

He also talked about what he called ‘love brigades’, which he said has become a burning problem in the campuses of the state. He expressed shock on the various incidents that took place at different colleges, where girls were attacked or killed for refusing the love proposals made by their classmates or college-mates. He accused the contemporary art and media of playing a vital role in shaping such a generation, and reminded the government that if such incidences are being neglected, the consequences could be dangerous.

Asif Mohiuddin (State President, SIO AP Zone), Zainul Pasha, Ishaq Ahmed and Farooq were also present during the press conference.
