HRD Cell of SIO Inaugurated

New Delhi: The Human Resource Development (HRD) Cell of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) for the term 2011-12 was recently inaugurated and the first workshop held at the National Headquarters of SIO in New Delhi.

Congratulating the cell members, Mohd. Azharuddin, President – SIO said that the sustainability of such projects lies on self motivation and commitment. He further said that, the cell is a platform to nurture talents and shape them into creative minds for a better future.

The workshop witnessed lectures, discussions and presentations on a wide range of themes including ‘Political Experiments of Islamic Movements’, ‘Islamic idea of People and the Nation’, ‘Politics beyond sovereignty and national interests’, ‘The Indian experience of Islam: Facing Pluralism, Secularism and Hindutva’, ‘Economy beyond demand-supply and market’, ‘Rethinking management of natural resources’, ‘Rethinking Technology and Society interaction’, ‘Society beyond freedom and liberty’, media houses, etc.

The resource persons for the workshop included Prof. Z.M. Khan, Secretary General, Institute of Objective Studies; Dr. Arshad Ajmal, Director, Sahulat Micro Finance; Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind; Dr. Mohd. Rafat, Professor, Jamia Millia Islamia; Parwaz Rahmani, Editor, Dawat; Bishruddin Sharqui, Former President, SIO; Abdur Rasheed Agwan; Javed Zafar, National Convenor, Research Scholars’ Forum of India; Anil Chamadia, Senior Journalist and Columnist; Limsir Ali, National Secretary, Research Scholars’ Forum of India; PM Salih, Secretary General, SIO and Omair Anas, Research Scholar, Jawaharlal Nehru University among others.
