Workshop on 'National Education Agenda' by SIO Maharashtra North

As part of the organisation’s policy to work for betterment of educational system, Maharashtra North chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO MNZ) organized a workshop to discuss the issues and challenges in education.  The Workshop was conducted on April 6, 2014 at Nandura, presided over by Br. Khaleeq Ahmed, Campus Secretary of SIO. He spoke on ‘Education in India: Policy and Practice’, in which he reminded the audience about various commissions and their reports and ‘results’. He explained the National Education Framework for better understanding of education strategy in India. Br. Khalid Mohsin, Former Editor of Rafeeq e Manzil said that we need comprehensive solutions regarding problems that we are facing in primary education. Janab Zahoor Ahmed, Secertary of JIH Maharahtra shared his views and concerns about Sacchar committee reports and educational issues related to minorities.

Later, Dr. Anwaar Siddiqui, Zonal President SIO MNZ said that saffronization of education is a grave concern and needs attention from secular forces. Br. Khaleeq Ahmed, in his concluding speech expressed that we are not supposed to only understand and criticize the educational policies but a strong and better alternative is needed for reformation. He urged each and every participant to strive for this cause.
