New Delhi (01.02.2011): The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) has marked its strong protest against the US Government’s action to force the Indian students studying at the sham Tri-Valley University, California to wear ankle monitors. The President of SIO, Mohammad Azharuddin said that the treatment is inhumane.

Condemning the United States for its act, he said, the Government that speaks loud about humanitarian laws and human rights does not consider practicing the basic fundamental right to dignity of life. It is a heinous crime committed to torture the student community and SIO stands by the students who are duped by the University, said Azharuddin.

SIO has demanded a thorough investigation into the case by the Indian govt about the consulting agents. SIO also demanded that the US treats the students with dignity and take appropriate action against the authorities of the sham university and the bureaucracy involved in the fraud.

Along with the above demands, SIO is demanding formation of a NRI Students’ Guidance & Grievances Cell. SIO will be submitting a memorandum to the US Ambassador in India, the Ministry of External Affairs and Department of NRI Affairs, Govt. of India.
