Ahmedabad, June 13: Students Islamic Organisation of India, has expressed concern over the shocking incident of schoolgirl getting gangraped in a moving car in Surat. “The incident is a manifestation of growing obscenity and vulgarity in society”, said Arshad Hussain Shaikh, President- SIO Gujarat in a press statement. The consumerist mindset and the negligence of the parents are to be blamed for frequent occurrences of such incidents in the society, he added.

SIO appealed parents to be more vigilant about the conduct of their wards and asked them to inculcate morality in them through moral and religious discourse. SIO also urged the government to exercise control over obscenity spread by television, cinema and print magazines in the garb of entertainment. Further, SIO called on the government to take stern actions against the culprits of the gang rape and bring them to justice.
