An awareness campaign on Right to Education (RTE) act was organised by SIO Gulbarga city. The main objective of the campaign was to bring awareness among the masses, student community in particular about benefits provided to poor, weaker sections and disadvantaged groups under RTE act, especially regarding free 25% seats (pre-school or 1st std) reserved for these children in private schools.

Various activities were taken up to bring awareness. Handbills were distributed, announcements were done in almost 40 mosques, field work was carried out in Shaik roza area to guide needy people, posters were used and street play was organised in a slum near MSK mill area. Also, public was guided about admission process through these activities. Social networking sites were also used for this purpose at individual level. More than 120 people enquired about RTE through helpline numbers provided by SIO Gulbarga in the publicity material.
