“The mid-day meal tragedy in Bihar that took lives of 22 students reflects the irresponsible behavior of the authorities in implementing Government schemes”, said National President of SIO Ashfaq Ahmed Shareef in a press release today.

He urged central and state governments to carry out high level probe since reports suggest excessive organic phosphorous was present in the meal .

He further added that Government schemes are not carried out in a responsible manner and that the recent incident doesn’t just shows Government’s negligence in mid day meal, but also points out loopholes in the school education coordination of the state.

SIO’s National secretary Shariq Ansar criticized the way politicians are trying to gain political mileage through this issue. He added that with such kind of a behavior the real issue is forgotten and the perpetrators find their way out.

The press release also extends condolences to the families of victims.
