morsi-1India is one of the largest democracy of the world with population over 1.25 billion, people of India has always raised their voice against all kind of human right violations around the globe, SIO Being one of The Largest student organization of India is seriously Concern over death sentences sought against Egypt’s first democratically-elected President Dr.Mohamed Morsi with 100 others  & also concern about detention by politicized charges on Muslim Brotherhood supreme leader Mohamed Badie and his deputy Khairat al-Shater including others.

President SIO of India Mr.Iqbal Hussain urged The Egyptian Judiciary to avoid Decisions that could undermine peace, stability and the rule of law in and around the region

SIO Feels That the charges against the Egyptian people are politically motivated and capital punishment here is against democracy and ballot box.

After Egyptian President Dr.Mohamed Morsi ousted by the military in July 2013 in just one year at office, it seems that Since then Egyptian Authorities have launched a relentless crackdown on dissent that has largely targeted ousted Morsi’s supporters, leaving hundreds dead and thousands behind bars.

SIO President also mention that, we are concerned about the western silence on capital punishment verdict of a Cairo’s court on ousted president Dr.Mohamed Morsi though West has always abolished the capital punishment in the region.

Leading human rights’ organizations, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and other international legal representatives around the globe have voiced their concerns about the use of death penalties against political opposition in Egypt. Which is considered as an international voice of civil society.

Since the coup in 2013 Egyptian state has seen the killing of thousands of unarmed pro-democratic protestors, detention of thousands of politicians and locking behind bars, widespread torture, banning of opposition groups, suppression of free media and .The most significant suppression is the wrong use of the legal system to prosecute political opponents and sentence them to death,

The People of India who always try to set good relations with all other countries around the world are in great distress over the decision of Cairo’s court, and feels that such decisions will certainly loose the value of democracy and trust over its institutions, therefore SIO urge the MEA and PMO of India to press hard to Egyptian Authorities for lifting the death sentenced by diplomatic ties,

SIO Also urge Human rights defenders and other social organizations’ around the globe to wage their voice and put international pressure to review the judgment in favor of people concern said laeeq ahmed khan aqil, national secretary for public relation SIO of INDIA in a statement.
