New Delhi: Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) called upon Dr. Shaikh Muddassir Siddiqui, Head of the law firm SNR Denton, Dubai during his visit to India on Thursday. Dr. Muddassir is a Shariah Panel member of Auditing & Accounting Organisations of Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) Bahrain and consultant for World Bank and IMF on various aspects of Islamic finance vis-à-vis Risk management and solvency laws.

During the exclusive meeting the Secretary General of SIO, P M Salih and National Secretary, Shaikh Shoaib introduced Dr. Muddassir the organisation and its activities over the last 29 years since its inception. Dr. Muddassir expressed content at the work and the large activity based network of SIO.

Dr. Muddassir said that SIO has a huge responsibility and role to play in the social progress of India. He appreciated the social welfare activities of SIO which are of utmost importance in Indian social setup. Stress should be laid upon quality education and access of education to all, he added.

Dr. Muddassir discussed the factors concerning alternate interest free banking and the Islamic Shariah backed financial system. He also deliberated over the need for larger engagement of younger generation in the macros and micros of Islam as an alternate to the world.
