A delegation of SIO Gujarat under the leadership of Br. Ashfaque Ahmed Shareef (National President of SIO) today met Shri Arjun Modvadia, Pradesh Pramukh of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Samiti, and handed over memorandum for immediate implementation of the minority scholarship program. Delegation included Br.Vaseef Hussain (Zonal President), Br.Faruq Ahmed (Zonal Secretary) and Br.Rashid Hussain (Joint Secretary)

It is to be noted that the Gujarat government has put bar on Pre-metric Scholarship program which was implemented by the Central Government of India. SIO had strongly protested and challenged the government’s decision after which the High Court had given the decision that “Central Government’s Pre-metric scholarship program should be implemented in Gujarat immediately”. However, government is adamant and working on challenging the High court’s decision in Apex court.

A letter was submitted to the opposition party leader in order to create pressure on Gujarat Government for immediate implementation of the scholarship program.
