Vijayawada, AP (22 October 2012): Students must strive for the progressive development of their personalities so as to fulfill the ultimate goal of serving Tehreek-e-Islami, urged SIO National President Mohd. Azharuddin.
Addressing a gathering of over 1,000 members in Andhra Pradesh, he pointed out toward the need of able human resources to represent Islam and Muslims in various domains and disciplines.
“Identify your abilities and develop it to an optimum level so that you can contribute to the goal of reconstruction of the society,” he added while delivering a speech at a members meet held in Vijayawada between 20-22 October.
Mr. Azharuddin also asked the cadre to develop ‘intellectual activism’ and work day-in and day-out in campuses to take up and solve relevant issues.
Dr. MKM Zafar from Maulana Azad National Urdu University highlighted the significance of social sciences and requested intelligent students to join courses in these fields and fulfill organizational needs.
On the other hand, Maulana Waseem, khateeb of Azizia Masjid in Hyderabad, said Muslim students should set higher goals; life without aim and purpose is meaningless.
Dr. KV Shiva Shankar from Siddharta Medical College, Vijayawada recalled his visit to Iran where he said to have learnt what discipline means and being secure in a foreign land.
He lauded SIO for its social and human-cantered activities during his talk at the public meeting organized at Siddhartha Auditorium on 21 October.
