New Delhi: Labeed Shafi, President SIO of India, strongly condemned the new round of Israeli Air strikes against Gaza on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan. Last Friday, the Israeli army began a large scale offensive deliberately targeting Palestinian civilians, including women, children and the elderly as well as peaceful protesters. SIO strongly condemns this brutal, inhuman and illegal offensive, and calls for its immediate cessation.

Labeed Shafi also called on the international community to stand by Palestine against Israel aggression on Gaza on the eve of Ramadan and respect international law and resolutions and decisions of the United Nations.

Further, SIO calls on the international community to take concrete steps to end the 12 year long inhuman siege and blockade of Gaza, including the initiation of sanctions against individuals inside Israel identified as having committed war crimes and crimes against humanity by the UN Commission Inquiry into the 2018 protests. He also demanded that international sanctions must also be initiated against individual officers responsible for the deaths of 25 civilians and more than 246 injured in the current offensive.
