An SIO delegation met with leaders of farmers’ movement today at Tikri Border and conveyed greetings and accolades on their struggle, resulting in rollback of farm laws.

Sukhdarshan singh, Vice President of Samyukt Kisan Morcha told the delegation, “This is just the start and we will ensure that this victory is realised after striking down of laws in parliament and also ensuring other demands such as MSP are realised.”

Kagmari Sangwan, Convenor of Women’s wing, expressed her delight. She said that the withdrawal of the laws was incumbent and reiterated that the genuine demands of farmers should be realised.

The delegation included SIO National Secretaries Kidiyoor Nihal, Tahoor Anwar, Ibrahim Saeed and Abdul Hafeez.

“The decision to repeal three farm laws is a victory for the struggle and sacrifices made by farmers and people across the country. It’s yet another reminder that the majoritarian powers will not be able to ride roughshod over the society and public opinion can’t be silenced.” Said Mohammad Salman, President SIO of India.

He added “We demand that the government should immediately fulfill other justified demands of farmers as well. All the other laws and policies that have been enacted by subverting the democratic process and will of the people should also be repealed as soon as possible.”
