Expectations of Students Community raised by SIO West Bengal

Keeping in view the upcoming General Elections, West Bengal chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India stepped forward to raise the students expectation cum demands mainly related to education and career. SIO published the ‘Students Manifesto’ containing an analysis of the present scenario and the 26 point measures to be taken for solving the issues encountered by students. In a press meet held at Calcutta Press Club, Md. Mosiur Rahaman – State President of SIO said that our country is affected by numerous issues in education sector. One should support the candidates who will assure to strive utmost for resolving the issues. Demands mentioned in the manifesto include introducing curriculum based on moral values, prohibition of alcohol and all intoxicants, proper implementation of the Right to Education Act, separate education system for boys and girls, quality education at higher level, increasing budget in education, reducing dropout rate, interest free loan to meritorious students, proper facilitation of OBC students, etc. SIO would like to draw the attention of all contestants in the upcoming Loksabha election towards the demands. Abdullahil Kafi – State Secretary of SIO said that they will meet all political parties and their contenders to discuss and present the manifesto. Finally, Shadab Masum, a member of Central Advisory Council of SIO expressed his hope that if these demands are implemented, India will certainly move forward.
