The guest of honour, Prof. Ramesh Dixit (Lucknow University) spoke on “Student Politics & Educational Policy of India.” He said student politics is the school and laboratory of democracy which has given us many revolutionary leaders but now efforts are going to shut down this laboratory. We should work for the restoration of Student Politics in campuses.

He said that media plays an essential role in changing the mentality of society but the sad thing is that it has become the puppet of political parties and capitalist powers. Today, the mainstream media does not care about social issues. Now, we have to become media in ourselves and fight for our rights. It is our responsibility to work for the positive change in media.

Speaking on the convention’s theme, ”A step for social change,” S. Ameenul Hasan (Ex. SIO wishes to reconstruct society in the manner where these problems do not appear and humanity, love and peace prevail.

Speaking on “Students and Social Responsibility” Masihuzzama Ansari (Zonal President, SIO U.P.
