SIO Hassan unit organised a Legal awareness program on 21st April 2013. The purpose of the program was to make public in general and students in particular aware of the legal procedures and rights. Many eminent Muslim personalities of the city were present.

Speaking on the topic, “Human Rights – Situation in India”, Mr. Irshad Desai, Convener of APCR Karnataka chapter stressed on the need to be aware of our human and legal rights. He also said that in today’s times, it’s imperative that one becomes legally aware. He highlighted various human rights issues in our country and gave some examples of the human rights violations.

In his concluding address, Mr. Sadrullah Khan, member of JIH, advised the students and the youth to exhibit restraint during sensitive situation and not get carried away in rage. He also urged students to represent Islam through their words and deeds. He said the role of the Muslim community is to show the world the path of peace, brotherhood, harmony and mutual respect.

Around 70 people including 35 students and 15 women attended the program.
