New Delhi: Nahas Mala, President SIO of India has welcomed the order by the Supreme Court of India asking the Parliament to enact strict legislation against mob lynching. The murders and atrocities are on the rise in the country in the name of cow vigilantism.
India is shifting itself from a democracy to mobocracy. Terming the new trend a threat to any civilised society, Mr Nahas has asked the government to make the necessary legislation at the best time possible.
He condemned the attacks on noted civil rights activist Swami Agnivesh by the BJP-RSS workers in Jharkhand. According to his aide, Mr Agnivesh could have been murdered in the attempt.
Mr Nahas also condemned the attacks on the office of the Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor by the RSS goons in Thiruvananthapuram. He alleged that the Sangh forces are taking law in their hands with the promised backing of the power centres in New Delhi. He asked the authorities to take stringent actions and bring the culprits before the law.
