Hindi Journalism is not mere Journalism, but Activism too: Secretary General, SIO

Patna: Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) has organised two days “Hindi Lekhan Karyashala” dated 28-29 April 2012 at Patna, Bihar. The objectives of the workshop were first to orient and develop students for their written contributions in Hindi and second to provide resource persons for Hindi magazines and periodicals.
At Concluding Address of the Workshop, PM Salih, Secretary General, SIO opined that Hindi Journalism is not mere journalism, but Activism too. Today everyone is a media person and Media has the power to change the society. He motivated cadres to write and share our views in Hindi mainstream newspapers and organisational magazines.
The program was started with the Inaugural Speech of Irshad Husain, National Secretary, SIO. Mr. Nirala from Tehelka Hindi handled “Hindi Journalism” and “Role of language and literature in Hindi Journalism”. Mr. Apoorvanand, Professor at Department of Hindi, University of Delhi delivered “How to Write” session and explained the basic requirements for writing and the important components of the same. The evening session on “Reporting” was headed by Mr. Jitendar, Newzfirst Bihar. He trained the participants for different reporting styles and its practices. Jawed Akhtar, Professor at Department of Hindi, Magadh University handled the session on “Language and literature” and conceptualized the different aspects of language and literature. A Panel Discussion moderated by Shariq Ansar, National Secretary, SIO was held on “Current Issues and our stand”. Participants presented their works in the talent demonstration session. A short film was screened and competition was arranged for best film review.
Selected students from UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, MP, Delhi, Kerala and JMI had participated in this program.
