“TELANGANA IS NOT A POLITICAL BUT AN ISSUE OF SOCIAL JUSTICE”: SIO President

“Telangana is not a political but an issue of social justice”, proclaimed Mohd. Azharuddin, President, Student Islamic Organisation of India (SIO). He was addressing the students and dignitaries at the convention held for formation of Students’ Solidarity Committee for a Separate Telangana at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

He said that the rights of the citizens in this country are violated on the basis of various reasons, be it linguistic, religious, etc. He assured the strength of the students by saying, “the Students’ Solidarity Committee for a Separate Telangana is revival of student activism and it should be continued till the socio-political scenario is not changed.

Quoting history and various instances he pointed at the failure of the Union and the State governments to implement the ‘Gentleman Agreement’. He concluded by saying, “we do not need options, we need a solution”, reiterating that the a separate state of Telangana is the solution.
