Surat Gang rape, a manifestation of rampant obscenity and vulgarity in society

Tuesday, June 16, 2009 Ahmedabad, June 13: Students Islamic Organisation of India, has expressed concern over the shocking incident of schoolgirl getting gangraped in a moving car in Surat. “The incident is a manifestation of growing obscenity and vulgarity in society”, said Arshad Hussain Shaikh, President- SIO Gujarat in a press statement. The consumerist mindset and the negligence of the parents are to be blamed for frequent occurrences of such incidents in the society, he added. SIO welcomes the Parliamentary panel report on sex education

 The central secretariat of the Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) welcomed the report of parliamentary committee that there should be no sex education in schools. The secretariat also expressed satisfaction that the nationwide campaign conducted by SIO has ultimately yielded good result. The report had agreed with almost all the points suggested by SIO to the committee. SIO campaign had raised concern that the proposed condom education program is unwise and ridiculous to be given to small school going kids and that it will create adverse effect and will instigate uncontrolled sexual relationships in the young generation.   In spite of Australian government’s assurance that it would not tolerate any more violence, today another Indian student was found unconscious and bleeding after being attacked in Australia, making him the eleventh target in a wave of alleged racial attacks. Law on ragging must be enforced urgently: SIO

The existing laws on ragging must be enforced in all the campus of the Nation urgently, stated Suhail K.K, National president of SIO in a press statement. Aman Kachroo is yet another victim of ragging that came into the limelight.
