Lodging protest against the ongoing campus violence across educational institutions of West Bengal, the state chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India, held a rally from Karunamoyee Bus Stand to Mayukh Bhaban via Bikash Bhaban, followed by a representation to Higher Education Minister. The delegation consisting of Mafikul Islam, Central Secretary, Abdullahil Kafi, State Secretary, Kamruj Jamal, Asst. PR Secretary, Helaluddin Ahmed, Campus Secretary and Adv. Khurshid Alam presented a memorandum suggesting possible means to overcome the issue of campus violence especially during student union elections. Cultural Program organised by SIO Tamaddun Silpi Gost

SIO Tamaddun Shilpi Gosthi (Cultural Wing of SIO West Bengal) organised a Cultural Program at Barasat, North 24 Parganas. The Program started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Hafiz Salauddin Khan. A drama based on the theme “Pagla Rajar Dase” depicting deterioration of country’s political situation was presented and highly appreciated by the audience. SIO Kolkata welcomes Supreme court’s verdict on Homosexuality

Kolkata chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) organized a rally in support of Supreme Court’s verdict on Homosexuality. Students from various colleges of Kolkata gathered at Calcutta University raising slogans against homosexuality. While addressing the rally, SIO Kolkata President Shadab Masum said that SIO welcomes the judgment of Supreme Court wherein it has declared homosexuality illegal and a punishable offence. The apex court on Wednesday quashed the Delhi High Court verdict of 2009 which had decriminalized homosexuality. SIO Shibpur’s workshop on Scoring in Exams

HOW TO SCORE BETTER

  Shibpur unit of Students Islamic Organisation of India Kolkata organised a 2-day workshop, “How to score better in Exams” for students of Madhyamic Pariksha (Xth Standard), in which around 170 students participated. Career Experts and Exam Evaluators guided the students and gave them useful tips. This was followed by an interactive session where students clarified their doubts.

State President of SIO West Bengal, Br. Mosiur Rahman and Campus Sec. Mohabbat Sk strongly condemned the attack on SIO’s cadre by TMCP activists. They also demanded strict punishment for the culprits. As per a press release, activists of  TMCP attacked SIO cadres at Harirampur College in South Dinajpur when a student help counter was installed by SIO at college premises. SIO West Midnapore district organized a blood donation camp followed by a seminar at Garbeta. Md. Mosiur Rahman, State President of SIO West Bengal was the chief guest of the event. SIO’s Rally against Social Evils in Murshidabad

  A massive march was organised by Murshidabad chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) against frequent rape cases, chit fund scam and violence at Harirampur College. The march started from Dhulian Kanchantala High School covering all municipality areas of Dhulian. More than 200 students and youths participated. The march demanded capital punishment for the rapists and fair investigation of chit fund scam. Br.
