On 14 May, a joint team of Jamaat e Islami Hind Jamshedpur Kabir Nagar Unit & Students Islamic Organisation of India, Jamshedpur(Jharkhand) organised relief Camp at Hashmi Mohalla and Himmat Nagar locality for the victims of Communal tensions going on in Pokharia village. Relief items comprising 25 kg rice, 5 kg dal, 5 kg Potato, 2 kg onion, 2 kg sugar, 1kg edible oil, 1 pkt tea, 1pkt powder milk was distributed among 16 families. SIO expresses deep concerns about the degrading education scenario in the state of Goa.


SIO National President Nahas Mala addressing in the media in Panjim raised questions over the implementation of ‘no detention policy’ by the state education department. He discarded the premise that children are not sduying as they are not afraid of failing grades. Felicitaion for the winners of the essay competition at Bangalore


SIO – Bangalore East Unit conducted an Essay Competition on the theme “Many Religions, One India” at Govt. Minorities Hostel, TC Palya. A total of 17 essays were submitted in English, Hindi, Kannada and Urdu. The Prize Distribution Program was held on 26th April 2017 at the hostel. Around 60 hostel students attended the program. Br. Muhammed Danish (Secretary, SIO Karnataka) addressed the students on the theme “Many Religions, One India”. The hostel warden, Mr. Raghunath, was also present during the occasion. A cash prize of Rs. 1000 was awarded to the best two essay writers.
