  30th January marks the assassination of Father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi, which is also observed as Martyrs’ day across the country. On this occasion, Paigham-e-Mohabbat 2014 organised a corner meet at Daak Bungalow in Patna. Bihar chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) also actively participated in this program. SIO Gujarat protests against Valentines’ Consumerism

Valentine day a symbol of commercialisation

Gujarat chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India organised demonstrations in Ahmedabad and Baroda against the commercial nature of Valentines’ Day. As part of this, around 12,000 leaflets were distributed in Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat and Anand in order to create awareness among the masses, particularly the student community. SIO appealed the students not be part of consumerism and adultery in the name of Valentine.  Addressing the media, Thoufiq Aslam, member of SIO said that friendship and love don’t require a day for expression. SIO Kerala’s Campus Cadre Meet in Palakkad


Kerala chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India organized a Meet for Campus cadre at Mount Seena Public School in Palakkad, in which students from various campuses participated. Legal Awareness Workshop held by SIO UP Central


Students Islamic Organisation of India, UP central conducted a Legal Awareness Workshop for its cadre at Zonal Office in Lucknow on 9th February 2014. Br. Aklaque Ahmad, National coordinator of Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) briefly described the various threats and precautions that one needs to take to overcome those threats. Students set out at stress busting session, an SIO Mumbai initiative


Cadre of Students Islamic Organisation of India conducted lectures on ‘How to face exams’ across various schools of Mumbai covering more than 1000 students. Addressing the students, Divisional President Kamran Mirza said that SIO has been active in organising educational guidance lectures, seminars on career building and motivational lectures for the past 30 years. He further said that one must not aim at merely acquiring knowledge but also aim at serving society through knowledge. Topics such as presentation via answer sheet, stress management, time management, revision techniques, memorization techniques were covered during the lectures.

Islamic knowledge test conducted by SIO Jaipur


SIO Jaipur Unit conducted a Islamic knowledge test for the students from 4th to 12th standard. The prize distribution ceremony was held on 9th of Feb 2014 at Hotel Arco Palace. The program began with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. Br. Zonal Tazkiyah Camp by SIO UP West


A Zonal Tazkiya camp was organized for local leaders at Jamiatul Hasnat, Kakrala Dist, Budaun on 8th & 9th of Feb 2014. The objective of the camp was to promote intellectual and spiritual growth among the leaders. A discussion was carried out for better understanding of organizational policy and possibilities of its application among various social classes. Around sixty representatives attended the camp.
