Turn not thy face from the society: SIO Mumbai

Mumbai (11.06.11):A Campus Orientation Workshop was successfully organized by SIO Mumbai Division specially for the students who are going to get admitted to colleges this academic year.

The workshop was designed to equip students to face the challenges as a new entrant in college campuses. Campus leader and former president of SIO of India Bishruddin Sharqi was chief guest of the work shop.

Bishruddin Sharqi shared his practical experiences in campus and college activism. He expressed his thoughts on the topic “Students Activism and Social Change”.

Social activist and MPJ Mumbai President Mr. Anees shared his views on current social issues in society and how can students play a vital role in solving these issues.

Br. Nadeem Siddiqi (ZAC Member, SIO Maharashtra South) presented an analysis of all contemporary student organizations working in Maharashtra.

There were lots of exercises and group activities for campus work. Students were highly motivated and pledged to play an important role in campuses.. Various assignments were also presented by the participants.

Br. Altaf (Campus Secretary, SIO Mumbai) presented the introduction of Students Voice (a campus wall magazine to be launched in july 2011)

The Workshop was concluded by motivational and thought provoking discourse by Bishruddin Sharqi. He urged the students to give maximum commitment toward society and come out from the narrow shackles  of self centric and ultra individualistic mentality.
