Students Festival successfully organised in Pune

Pune: Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Pune successfully organised Students Festival ’12, a part of the National Mega Event of Cultural Competitions with the theme ‘Exploring Edutainment – Coloring Creativity’, on 23rd September 2012 at Azam Campus Pune. The National Mega Event should be held on 18th,19th Oct ’12 at Kolkata. 

Honorable Dr.Naziruddin (Principal, Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce Pune) was the Chief Guest at Closing Ceremony. He congratulated SIO Pune for organizing a successful students festival and providing a platform for students to showcase their talents. Along with him, Prof. Shaikh Husnuddin and Prof. Shaik Javed were the judges for this one day festival. In this one day festival, Br. Ariz Alvi, Students Festival Organizer explained the theme of the festival opined that education and entertainment help students explore their hidden talents and these 2 factors bring together the best talents. Br. Shaikh Khizer Karimuddin, President SIO Pune welcomed the guests and the gathering at the Ceremony whereas Br. Misbah Khan, Secretory SIO Pune delivered vote of thanks.

This one day festival witnessed many participating institutes of Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges competing on 7 On-stage events. The On-stage events were Drama, Mime, Extempore Elocution, Mimicry, Poet Recitation, Mono Act and Street Plays whereas the Off-stage events includes Painting, Cartoon Making and Collage Making competitions were also held in Pune. The participants were highly enthusiastic and put their zeal to entertain the audience. The winners of all the competitions will represent Pune at the State Festival to be held on 1st October 2012 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
