SIO Gujarat’s Monthly organ Yuvasaathi website launched


Gujarat chapter of the Students Islamic Organization of India launched website of it’s monthly organ Yuvasaathi (www.yuvasaathi.com) at Suffa Center in Juhapura. Yuva Saathi, a mainstream Gujarati magazine started in January 2010 and is spreading the message of Islamic ideology since then. It has been working to make the society ethically and morally educated since last four years. The website had already existed, but its features were too limited and were unable to satisfy the needs of visitors. Andhra Pradesh chapter of the Students’ Islamic Organisation of India, in a press release said that SIO firmly believes in struggling against injustice in the society, particularly for the student community. Welcoming the passing of Telangana bill in Parliament, State President of SIO AP, Iqbal Hussain said that SIO would play a crucial role in raising concerns of the people of Seemandhra region. SIO AMU observes Human chain on Social Justice day


On the eve of World day of Social Justice, SIO Aligarh Muslim University Zone organised a Human chain. Students condemned the social injustice and discrimination prevailing across the nation. It also demanded a fast investigation into Nido Tania’s death. Students from North East also actively participated in the program. Alif Shukoor, Abdullah Azzam and North East student Mohammed Rizwan addressed the human chain.

SIO leaders attacked at Thalassery Engg college in Kerala


SIO leaders at  Thalassery Engineering college were brutally attacked by SFI during the election campaigning of Cusat Academic Council. ZAC  Member of SIO, Shamseer Ibrahim, State Campus Council members Ameen ongam, Ramees Velam, SIO Kannur District Committe Members Ajmal,Fasil, Jauhar etc got injured in the attack. SIO State Secretary K.V. Safeer Sha visited the injured workers at Thalessery General Hospital. Protesting against the incident, SIO observed a protest day across all campuses of the state. SIO organised massive students rallies against red fascism in Thalesseri.

T-bill was passed in undemocratic manner: SIO AP South


Kadapa: Regional President of SIO Andhra Pradesh south region, Br. Farooq in a press statement, criticised the way the Andhra Pradesh state re-organization bill was passed in the Parliament. He said that the way T-bill was passed is undemocratic. “No debate took place on the bill and the bill was passed by a voice-vote amid TV blackout”, he said. He urged the Government to seriously think about issues and concerns of the Seemandhra region such as water, education, employment etc post division. He demanded that due compensation should be given to the underdeveloped areas of Rayalseema and North Andhra.

As the Telangana bill is passed in Lok sabha today, Hyderabad chapter of the Students’ Islamic Organisation of India welcomed the move of parliament of passing the much awaited T-bill. As per a press release, City President of SIO, Layeeq Ahmed said that the fight for Telangana was based on justifiable demand of its people. Pune chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) observed a 15-day campaign, ‘Youth 4 Morality’ from 1st till 15th Feb 2014.
