SIO TS Zone critics on Telangana Budget 2015-16

Students Islamic Organisation of India, Telangana Zone critically appreciates the budget. Though there are social sectors where government has allocated good amount of funds but the education sector has not got good attention of State Government. Below are the few observation of SIO TS Zone regarding State Budget announced in Assembly on 11th March 2015.

  • Telangana Budget is neither Education nor Student friendly.
  • Declared budget doesn’t motivate towards new improvements in Education sector benefits to students. It is just a figure to manage the human resource (employees) of the educations sector.
  • Students who fought for Telangana, sacrificed their lives with a dream of a new state where every student would get realize their dreams come true through better schemes and full fledge support by new Govt are dismayed. There is no specific focus on skill development of rural and urban youth.
  • KG to PG scheme and budgetary allocation in this regard is missing.
  • Previous allocated budget like 119 crores for IIT is missing in this Budget.
  • Allocation of budget to universities like OU of 238 crores is just in the form of grants and doesn’t motivate towards new improvements.
  • Last budget had 10.51% of the total budget allocated to Education sector whereas the current budget has decreased it to 9.28% of the total budget.
  • Utilization of the previous budget is not clear till the date.
  • Scholarships of the year 2013 – 14 after a strong and overwhelming pressure by many public forums and Students Organisations just released before one or two months.
  • The budget for Scholarship and other benefits for Students it not so positive.
