Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) has been concerned about the Islamic Seminaries from the day one. The organization strives to nurture consciousness of society and social problems among students of these Islamic Seminaries and nourish their capabilities to enable them to carry out their desired role in the building of community and the nation.
To review the prevalent conditions among these seminaries, SIO has in the year 2014 conducted a nation-wide survey, in which representatives of SIO surveyed close to 500 Madaris of our beloved country. Detailed discussions and interactions were conducted with students of Madaris, dignitaries of Madaris and those associated to such institutions.
After reviewing the now prevalent situation, SIO felt a need to prepare a ‘Career Guide Book’: to provide career counseling and academic guidance to these sections of academia. It was to make students aware of their objective, missions and their responsibilities, and to guide them to progress forward utilizing the available opportunities.
TA’LEEM*TARAQQI*TA’MEER (Guide for Maradis Students) is an important move by SIO to substantially assist students of seminaries. There should not be anything standing in their way to gain the knowledge of the subjects and disciplines of the time. They have excellent work opportunities in the academic arenas of Social Sciences like History, Political Science, Sociology, Education, Law, Journalism, Geography, Economics and Commerce and Science subjects like Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Oceanography, Physics, Medicine, Engineering among others; the details of which are given in this book.
Brief introduction of each discipline, its importance and value, stages of acquiring formal education, work opportunities in that particular field are also mentioned in it. Excerpts of pioneering scholars, notable Ulema and their points of view about mentioned subjects are briefed as well. Moreover, information on scholarship providing institutions has also been included so that financial difficulties do not hinder the very keen students. Students from other institutions can also benefit from this book.
Releasing ceremony for this book was held at SIO headquarters, yesterday. Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan, Chairman of Delhi Minorities Commission as the Chief Guest on the occasion released the book. Among other guests present were renowned social activist Jb. Khaled Saifi and Mohammed Aslam, Mohammad Fozail (Researcher), Khan Yasir (Academic Director, IIIS-Delhi) and National Secretary of SIO Moulana Abdul Wodud present too.
