SIO President at the IYFO Conference, Turkey

New Delhi: The President of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Mohd. Azharuddin participated at the 6th International Muslim Youth Cultural Cooperation Meeting organized by International Youth Forum (IYFO) at Istanbul, Turkey recently.

SIO President in his Protocol Speech said, “The Modern era is the era of changes. But these are partial and at micro level. Islam has a great potential and competency to provide a peaceful and just society”.

He further elaborated, “In this age of Information Technology, every individual has to play the role of media in the form of Social Networking sites and influence on the System through a constructive agenda. Human Resource and Skill & Talent Development are an immense need of Islamic Movements. They need to work on the long term agenda”.

The theme of the Conference was ‘Recent Developments in the World and Role of Youth Community’. Topics discussed during the conference comprised, ‘Reasons and Birth of Uprising in Muslim Countries and Its Nature’, ‘Effects of Uprising on the Global level’, ‘Future of Uprising,  New World and Role of Media’.

IYFO is based on the principles of “Not war, but peace; Not conflict, but dialogue; Not double standards, but Justice; Not arrogance, but equality; Not exploitation, but cooperation; Not oppression and hegemony, but human rights, freedom”.

IYFO is a common platform for worldwide different students’ organizations which are striving for “A New World” where the peace and Justice is dominant against the existing world order of hatred and exploitation. It aims at harmonized cooperation of the youth and student organizations.
Representatives of around 35 Islamic Movements and Muslim Youth Organization from different countries participated.
