Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) under the banner of Indian Peoples Solidarity for Egyptians organised a protest against the dictatorial regime of Hosni Mubarak in front of the Egypt Embassy in New Delhi on 2nd February 2011.  Led by Shaikh Shoaib, National Secretary, SIO alongwith representatives from Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR), Delhi Malayali Halqa, All India Students Association (AISA) and other  organisations demonstrated unitedly against Hosni Mubarak and demanded democracy & a welfare state in Egypt.
