Mumbai – Nov 22: SIO Mumbai successfully conducted Press Meet at Marathi Patrkar sangh at 3 Pm today.

Mr Aslam Ghazi(Jamaat e islami Hind), Mr Feroz Mithiborwala (Bharat Bachao Andolan), Mr Kishore Jagtap (Bharti Vidyarthi), Mr Anwar Shaikh (SIO Maharashtra South Zone) and Mr Tariq Qazi (APCR) addressed the media persons and responded to their queris.

Mumbai Police did not gave permissions to conduct dharna at Azad Maidan today. This protest was part of Nationwide Protests and March by SIO for Unjustified frequent arrests of Students and youths in the name of counter terrorism who are later acquitted without guilt. SIO highlighted how many students and youths life has been ruined due to such attempts by law enforcing agencies. SIO along with many other organizations held parliament march from jantar mantar at Delhi, Similar march to Assembly were taken in other states.

In this context SIO demands:

Free and fair investigation and end bias in law enforcement

Stop custodial torture by police and intelligence agencies

Provision of special fast track courts for speedy trail of ‘terrorism’ cases to settle

case within an year

Compensation to and rehabilitation of the innocents

Action against personnel of investigation agencies responsible for fabrication of

evidence against innocents

Remove all draconian laws including Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA),

Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA)
