SIO Maharashtra North’s initiative – Students Centre in Nagpur

On 19 October 1982, Students Islamic Organization of India was founded to serve the student community and to address issues concerning students in campus and society. Thus, 19th October is celebrated as students’ day across India. In order to make the future of this country intellectually and ethically strong, SIO Maharashtra North Zone took an initiative to create such an environment where we can fulfill the need of students and the nation. For this purpose, a space called Students’ Centre was constructed and inaugurated in the presence of Zonal Patron Eng. Taufeeq Aslam, Dr. Dayanand Gogle, Prof. Botany Deptt. Nagpur University, Mrs. Vijaylaxmi Nandapurkar, Vice-principal of Orange city college of social work and Zonal president of SIO MNZ.
Zonal President, Dr Anwaar Siddiqui, in his inaugural words, discussed the main highlights of the students’ centre and how it could help in making students responsible towards the society?
Mr. Dayanand Gogle spoke on the topic “Education a biggest tool for social change”. Mr. Abdurauf Sheikh, Retd. Divisional commissioner and CEO of Wakf board also shared his views. Mr. Gulabrao Yhakre, Joint commissioner Income IT also spoke on the occasion. The program concluded with Zonal Patron Mr Taufeeq Aslam Khan’s presidential address. Dr. Adnan, Zonal Campus Secretary proposed vote of thanks.
