Syed Azharuddin, State Public Relations Sec of SIO Telangana while addressing the 100’s of Students at HCU (Hyderabad Central University) in a protest meet over the Suicide of Research Scholar Rohith Vemula has condemned it in strongest terms and said that SIO Telangana holds the administration of the university responsible for this and demands that the rustication orders of the Dalit scholars should be immediately revoked. The irresponsible attitude of the university administration has led to the loss of a precious life.
He also demands that a fair inquiry should be put to unearth the persecution of the Dalit students inside the University campus. The culprits behind this institutionalized boycott of these students must be punished. MHRD to take the cognizance of the matter and put an end to such anti Dalit biases inside the campuses of the country, said Azharuddin.
SIO grieves the death of a talented research scholar of our country. Due to our social apathy towards lower and under privileged class we have lost one gem of the society and a budding talent of Indian academia. Also appealed the students community not to suicide, its not the solution of problem, student leaders should struggle to achieve their goals instead of killing themselves.
