SIO filed a petition in Supreme Court against the AIPMT dress code

Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Today filed a petition in Supreme Court against AIPMT dress code through their advocates Mr. Sanjay Dhigde, Mr. Shadan Farasat & Mr. Abubakr Sabbaq Subhani. SIO had sought quashing of the notification issued by the CBSE. Ms. Mariam Naseem, Ms. Ayesha Khan, Ms. Shabana Bano (Candidates AIPMT/AIPDT) and Mr. Layeeq Ahmed Khan (National Secretary SIO) are the petitioners on behalf of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) said Thouseef Madikeri, National Secretary, SIO of India.  He added “We are hopeful of positive outcome in the court battle”.

The dress code was ordered by CBSE following the Supreme Court order on 15th June to scrap the May 3, 2015 AIPMT results & to conduct a fresh test.

Kerala high court on 21/07/2015 allowed Ms. Nidha Raheem & Ms. Asiya Abdul Kareem to write their exams wearing full sleeves & Hijab. Kerala High court directed the CBSE authorities to depute a woman invigilator in the examination centre & also directed the petitioners to present themselves before the invigilator 30 minutes before the exam.

SIO of India demanded the immediate withdrawal of dress code mandate by the CBSE .
