SIO’s national president Nahas Mala, demanded to roll back fee hike made by University administration for diploma, UG, PG and Research courses and other miscellaneous fees , which has effect on economically backward student community. As University is known to impart and promote vocational and technical education in Urdu medium, in which most of the students comes from underprivileged backgrounds may suffer with continuous fee hike as there was a hike last year as well, but the problem keeps continuing.
For the larger interest of economically backward students, university administration should respond to the demands of students and student union whose protest turned to hunger strike. As administration is pro students and previously considered the demands of students in many occasion we expect the same this time also, Nahas added. We also demand to provide laboratory facility to the students of social sciences and linguistic for which fees is being collected, he concluded.
