“The media is targeting and defaming a particular community under the pretext of investigating terror activities. Recently, the National Investigating Agency (NIA) court released innocent youth who were arrested after being accused of terror activities, this release indicates the reality of the biased attitude of Police”, said Moulana Ziya Ur Rahman Nadwi, President of SIO Bhatkal speaking to a large number of people who gathered near the Assistant Commissioner’s office. The Students Islamic Organization (SIO) submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Commissioner of Bhatkal sub division, protesting against the defamation of Bhatkal town by the national media.

In the said memorandum, SIO demanded to stop accusing youth of a particular community before any investigation.
